Personal advice instead of lengthy research
Petra has headed up our university library since October 2013. She was born in Emsland, previously worked in the photography industry and therefore really understands the media world and its associated topics, which is, of course, of great benefit to our students. She can give you specific individual advice, relevant to the theme you are researching during a specific study phase. This is one reason why our students are so successful in their exams. You automatically receive your library card when you enrol.
500 books, 1200 films
The library contains 5 000 books, more than 1 200 films and a multitude of specialist journals for each of our 3 subject fields. The subscribed journals and magazines include, for example, "epd film", "film echo |" Film Week", "Film & TV Cameraman", "FKT" in the subject area of film and television; "Horizon","W&V","One to One","Page" and the media magazine "journalist" in the subject area of marketing and journalism.
Most of these books, magazines and films can be browsed though in the library or borrowed free of charge.
In addition, some individually compiled and current lecture notes of all modules can all be found in the expanding collection of the library. We also have a selected collection of final theses of our graduates.
A quiet atmosphere and a selection of speciality coffees
If you don't want to borrow a book, you can sit within and enjoy your studies in a peaceful atmosphere, with a cup of coffee, a cappuccino or a latte macchiato. Tea is also free, of course! We don't have a fixed loan period. You can individually arrange a suitable loan period. And if you should forget to return anything, Petra will send you a friendly reminder by email.
