DEKRA | Hochschule für Medien is a private university of applied sciences in the trendy Berlin Friedrichshain district. The university is officially approved by the state of Berlin and accredited by the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat). We are offering Bachelor programmes in Communication Management, Journalism and PR, Film and Television as well as Film and Performing Arts. These degree programmes are tailored to the modern media landscape, providing hands on classes in the respective fields with teachers who are themselves media professionals.
Within our Bachelor programmes we offer a wide range of specialisations in each programme: media design, marketing communication, communication psychology (Communication Management), online journalism, TV journalism, TV presentation, public relations (Journalism and PR) as well as directing, cinematography, production, postproduction, sound design (Film and Television) , acting for film/directing or film education and media pedagogy (Film and Performing Arts).

Quality certification and accreditations
All study programmes of DEKRA | Hochschule für Medien (Television and Film, Journalism and PR, Communication Management) have been accredited by the Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (ZEvA -Zentrale Evaluations- und Akkreditierungsagentur).
During this accreditation process the ZEvA reviewed the standards of the course content by evaluating the submitted Bachelor programme concepts and assessing the training function and feasibility of study, especially with regard to opportunities in the job market.
The general goals of acquiring such an accreditation are: to ensure the quality of the Bachelor and Masters programmes; to establish transparency throughout the differentiated range of available courses and to guarantee nationally as well as internationally recognised qualifications. This institutional accreditation certifies that as a private University of Applied Science we are able to provide education and research that adheres to recognised scientific and academic standards. Furthermore, as part of the accreditation process, the material and personell resources and the financing of DEKRA | Hochschule für Medien was also evaluated.
